Polina Masevnina (1997, Ryazan, Russia ), a multidisciplinary visual artist and self-publisher based in the Czech Republic, draws upon radical intimacy, erotic and pornographic aesthetic, rawness, and the utilization of her own body as an instrument to unite various media and themes within her artistic practice. Rooted in tumultuous conflict and liminality, her work transcends boundaries, interweaving concept with artistic form. Masevnina often operates at the nexus of text and image, manipulating and blending these elements to craft minimalist objects with complex and often ambivalent dynamic. At the core of her artistic expression lies a dynamic tension, exploring contrasts between the external and internal, and the personal and the political.Polina describes her visual and verbal language as instinctive, violent, intimate, narcissistic, open to a thousand possible interpretation.
Since 2019, she has been developing and publishing her personal photography series in the form of an intimate diary through self-published editions.
