НА СТАРТ-ВНИМАНИЕ-МАРШ / READY-SET-GO
The essence of this performative action lies in its portrayal of the stages and conditions of anxious attachment, particularly focusing on the chasing phase. This phase is characterized by an intense, exhausting, and ultimately futile pursuit. To encapsulate this experience, I aim to integrate the sound of crystal glass being struck alongside snippets of voiceovers. This combination seeks to recreate the restless mind, the persistent thoughts revolving around the love object, and the pulsating urge to attain validation, love, and reassurance. The action itself is crafted to be minimalist and absurd, serving as a stark representation of the obsessive dynamics inherent in intense and unhealthy romantic connections.
This segment involves the act of walking while wearing tights, with hands firmly fixed in place. It demands significant physical tension and effort, yet ultimately serves no purpose and leads nowhere at its core. This physical enactment mirrors the perpetual chase depicted in the preceding performance, highlighting the cyclical nature of the attachment dynamic.
Central to the auditory experience of the performance is an extended loop of crystal glass strikes. This repetitive and unsettling sound creates an atmosphere of discomfort and tension, mirroring the relentless nature of the anxious attachment cycle.
Projected onto an old TV screen is a collage of scenes from romantic movies, meticulously curated to highlight the idealized portrayals of love prevalent in contemporary dating culture. These snippets serve as the backdrop against which the audience witnesses the pursuit of the love object, perpetuating the illusion of a "happily ever after" to chase after.
The physical embodiment of the performance involves a paradoxical act: walking, yet remaining stationary. Me as a performer will engage in a repetitive walking motion, but ultimately making no progress. This physical manifestation underscores the futility of the chase, emphasizing the cyclical nature of anxious attachment.
